Pay Day

Yesterday, I got paid. Now, nobody handed me a paycheck, nor did I receive a 'direct deposit'. My career is not one in which I earn an hourly wage and though it most resembles a salaried position, that doesn't quite encompass my pay scale and wage-earning capacities. You see, I am a mom. And motherhood is largely a 'sow now and reap later position'. However, occassionally a mother receives a payment in advance. That's what I got yesterday. It was personally delivered by a little 3 year old princess, complete with arms wrapped tightly around my neck and these words whispered in my ear: "It sure is nice to have a mommy in our home". Thank You, Jesus, for such a sweet reward!

I just read Galatians 6:9-10 today. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. That's what I needed to hear.

I love those "paychecks" so much. Just today I got half a piece of candy corn from Rachel, sticky sticky "nice" touches on both of my cheeks by Jeremiah, a bag full of notes that Ezra wrote me, and a thick slab of hot apple bread served to me first by the baker, David.

Super sweet! My 3yo just grabbed me on my legs tonight and said "You are the best mom I have ever had!!!" Gotta love it!:)
